Pain Control

prior to dental treatment

Dr. Marche’ Schulte makes every effort to administer local anesthetics in a slow, gentle, and comfortable manner, thus minimizing any pain that may accompany dental treatment.  Te specific treatment being provided along with a patient’s overall health all factor in when determining the type of local anesthetic used. The duration of numbness after treatment varies from patient to patient and depends on what drug was used. Generally the numbness wears off after two to three hours. Some surgical grade local anesthetics can last between eight to ten hours. Parents must be careful to watch their child for chewing or biting of inner cheeks or tongue that can cause them to be injured.
